Linux Administrator (RHEL/SUSE/Debian)

Responsibilities

We are seeking a skilled Linux Administrator with hands-on experience managing enterprise Linux environments, including RHEL, SUSE, and Debian-based distributions (Debian/Ubuntu). The role involves administration, troubleshooting, patching, upgrades, virtualization support, automation, and incident management for mission-critical infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

Administer and support large-scale Linux environments including RHEL, SUSE, Debian, and Ubuntu servers.

Manage Linux server lifecycle activities including provisioning, configuration, patching, upgrades, migrations, and decommissioning.

Perform Linux OS in-place upgrades, application migrations, and new server builds.

Apply security patches, maintenance releases, kernel updates, and server hardening standards.

Manage physical and virtual servers hosted on Proxmox and Hyper-V platforms.

Administer logical volume management (LVM), filesystem expansion, storage allocation, and disk migration activities.

Perform startup/shutdown activities, log analysis, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis for production issues.

Monitor server health, critical services, capacity utilization, and system performance.

Manage DNS, VM snapshots, virtualization resources, and networking configurations.

Provide L2/L3 support for incidents, problems, changes, and service requests.

Coordinate with vendors for issue resolution and service restoration.

Prepare operational reports, capacity reports, and technical documentation.

Create and maintain knowledge base articles, SOPs, and support documentation.
