Rubrik Backup & Recovery Engineer

Responsibilities

• Architect, implement, and optimize Rubrik-based backup and recovery solutions for enterprise workloads aligned to RPO/RTO targets.
• Lead end-to-end backup operations including policy design, scheduling, retention, replication, and lifecycle management.
• Own recovery readiness by planning and executing restore tests, disaster recovery validations, and recovery runbooks with stakeholders.
• Troubleshoot complex backup/restore failures, performance issues, and data protection gaps; drive root-cause analysis and permanent fixes.
• Establish and maintain standards for backup governance, naming conventions, access controls, and audit-ready reporting.
• Partner with application, virtualization, storage, and security teams to onboard new workloads and ensure consistent protection coverage.
• Monitor platform health, capacity, and job success metrics; proactively tune configurations to improve reliability and reduce operational noise.
• Drive continuous improvement through documentation, knowledge sharing, and mentoring of junior engineers and operations teams.
