Snowflake Administration

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer and support Snowflake environments, including warehouses, databases, schemas, roles, and resource monitors.
• Manage user access and security using RBAC, ensuring least-privilege access and consistent governance practices.
• Monitor platform health, performance, and query behavior; identify bottlenecks and recommend tuning actions.
• Perform routine operational tasks such as usage tracking, cost monitoring, and warehouse sizing/auto-suspend optimization.
• Support data onboarding activities, including object setup, permissions, and coordination with engineering/analytics teams.
• Troubleshoot incidents related to access, performance, and workload failures; provide timely resolution and clear updates.
• Maintain documentation for administration procedures, runbooks, and standard operating processes.
• Assist with implementing and maintaining best practices for environment hygiene, naming standards, and change management.

Minimum Qualifications:

• BTECH, MTECH, MCA, or MSC.
• 2–3 years of hands-on experience in Snowflake administration and Snowflake platform operations.
• Working knowledge of Snowflake security concepts (users, roles, grants) and administrative controls.
• Ability to monitor and troubleshoot Snowflake performance and operational issues using platform tools and query history.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate with data engineering and analytics stakeholders on operational needs.

Additional Responsibilities

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience supporting Snowflake Cloud deployments and understanding of cloud-based operational considerations.
• Exposure to workload management practices such as warehouse sizing strategies, resource monitoring, and cost optimization.
• Familiarity with data platform governance practices, including access reviews, audit readiness, and policy-driven controls.
• Experience creating operational dashboards/alerts and contributing to incident response and post-incident improvements.
• Proven ability to improve reliability through documentation, automation of repeatable tasks, and process standardization.
