Workflow Engineer

Responsibilities

Advanced Workflows (uaa-awe) — CRON workflows, STREAM workflows, Advanced Workflows (event-driven logic, timer-based qualification, alarm correlation)

RACR rules development (uaa-med-fme) — JavaScript-based alarm classification rules, problem Code assignment, severity overrides, RA-specific rule blocks

Alarm management — alarm lifecycle (raise/clear/acknowledge), alarm correlation (RCA creation), soak timers, flapping detection, persistence qualification

UAA integrations — Kafka message production/consumption, Remedy API integration (ticket creation), API Gateway

Python scripting — Remedy integration scripts (advanced_trouble_ticket.py), Kafka consumer logic, payload construction

RA (Resource Adapter) management — RA certification, alarm/PM data collection, device onboarding

UAA platform operations — environment promotion (Lab → Stage → Production), UAA UI File Manager, workflow import/export, platform upgrades

Database — PostgreSQL queries against uaa-core-db (alarm history, occurrence patterns

Technical and Professional Requirements

Linux administration — RHEL-based systems, shell scripting, log analysis, process management

Kubernetes / Rancher — container orchestration, pod management (uaa-awe pods), deployment troubleshooting

Kafka — topic management, consumer groups, message schemas (JSON), troubleshooting message flow

GitLab — Git workflows, merge requests, branch management, CI/CD pipelines

TrapStation — SNMP trap collection and forwarding

Networking fundamentals — SNMP, ICMP, syslog, alarm protocols, understanding of telecom/ISP network elements

Remedy/ITSM — ticket lifecycle, creation, field mapping, API integration

Telecom/ISP fault management background

Jira workflow experience – Agile Framework
