Embedded Firmware QA Engineer

Experience: 4-6 Years.
Location: Mumbai – Powai Location.

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled Embedded Firmware QA Engineer to validate, test, and ensure the quality of embedded software and firmware running on microcontroller and embedded Linux-based platforms. The ideal candidate should possess strong testing expertise, embedded systems knowledge, debugging skills, and experience working closely with firmware, hardware, and software development teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test strategies for embedded firmware and software applications.
• Execute manual and automated testing for embedded products across various hardware platforms.
• Validate firmware functionality, performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Perform regression, integration, system, and stress testing for firmware releases.
• Identify, document, track, and verify defects using bug-tracking tools.
• Conduct root cause analysis and collaborate with development teams to resolve issues efficiently.
• Design and maintain automated test frameworks using Python or Bash scripting.
• Work closely with hardware and firmware engineers to validate communication protocols and hardware interfaces.
• Support product qualification, release validation, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
• Participate in design reviews and provide quality-focused feedback during development cycles.

Mandatory Technical Skills

Embedded Systems

• Strong understanding of embedded systems concepts.
• Knowledge of microcontrollers, sensors, and embedded hardware architectures.
• Experience working with hardware interfaces such as:
  • SPI
  • I2C
  • UART
  • CAN (preferred)

Programming

• Basic to intermediate proficiency in:
  • C
  • C++

Embedded Platforms

• Experience with:
  • Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS)
  • Embedded Linux environments
