SolarWinds Administrator

Responsibilities

Administer, configure, and maintain SolarWinds platform components (NPM, NCM, NTA, SAM, IPAM).

Monitor network and infrastructure performance to ensure maximum availability and reliability.

Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve network monitoring alerts and incidents.

Configure dashboards, reports, thresholds, and alerting mechanisms for proactive monitoring.

Perform tool upgrades, patching, backup, and health checks of monitoring platforms.

Coordinate with Network, Security, Server, and Application teams for issue resolution.

Ensure adherence to ITIL processes including Incident, Problem, and Change Management.

Prepare operational reports, RCA documentation, and capacity planning recommendations.

Technical and Professional Requirements

Experience in Network Monitoring, Infrastructure Monitoring, or Tool Administration.

Hands-on experience with SolarWinds administration and configuration.

Strong understanding of SNMP, NetFlow/IPFIX, Syslog, TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, Routing & Switching.

Experience with network troubleshooting and performance analysis.

Knowledge of monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios, Zabbix, LogicMonitor, or similar platforms.

Exposure to ITSM tools such as ServiceNow.

Good understanding of network devices including Routers, Switches, Firewalls, and Wireless Controllers.

Basic scripting knowledge (PowerShell/Python) is an added advantage.
