Alation Manta Data Platform Support and QA Engineer

Responsibilities

Support, monitor, and maintain Alation, MANTA, Arena, and related platforms.

Execute manual and automated testing for platform features, integrations, APIs, and upgrades.

Perform SQL-based data validation and troubleshoot platform issues.

Manage incidents, changes, and service requests using ServiceNow.

Monitor application health using Dynatrace, Splunk, and other tools.

Develop automation scripts using Python and Shell scripting.

Support Linux/Unix environments, cloud platforms (AWS/Azure), and CI/CD processes.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure platform reliability and service excellence.

Maintain operational and testing documentation and participate in Agile

Additional Responsibilities

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

Technical and Professional Requirements

5–10 years of experience in Application Support, QA, Platform Operations, or DevOps.

Experience with Alation, MANTA, Arena, or similar data governance/catalog tools.

Strong SQL, Linux/Unix, API testing, and troubleshooting skills.

Knowledge of Python, Shell scripting, Git, and automation practices.

Exposure to AWS/Azure cloud environments and CI/CD pipelines.

Familiarity with ServiceNow, Rally, Dynatrace, and Splunk.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
