Job Description
HV Grid & Smart Grid SME
Location : PAN India CG location
Experience: 12+years
Role Overview:
The HV Grid & Smart Grid SME provides technical leadership across power transmission, distribution, grid modernization, digital grid platforms, and Smart Grid technologies. The role brings deep domain expertise in HV systems, ADMS/SCADA/EMS/OMS, DERMS, grid protection, automation, and digital grid transformation. Responsibilities span solutioning, client engagement, technical architecture, proposal support, and delivery governance.
Key Responsibilities:
A. HV Grid & Smart Grid Technical Leadership
- Serve as the primary expert for High Voltage (HV) transmission and distribution networks, grid protection systems, and grid automation.
Guide utilities on modernization strategies using ADMS, SCADA, EMS, OMS, GIS, DERMS, and grid analytics platforms. - Support modeling and simulation of HV networks, network stability, load flow, power quality, and system reliability.
B. Smart Grid Architecture & Solution Design
- Lead design and integration of Smart Grid systems, including DER integration, Volt/VAR optimization, FLISR, and predictive grid operations.
- Evaluate and architect digital grid solutions—digital twins, grid analytics, workforce & asset management, grid flexibility, and demand response platforms.
- Assess emerging technologies and ecosystem partners to enhance Smart Grid value propositions.
C. Implementation & Delivery Oversight
- Oversee implementation of ADMS/SCADA/EMS/OMS/DERMS solutions for large utilities.
- Ensure seamless integration between operational technology (OT) systems and enterprise platforms.
- Provide advanced troubleshooting and technical support for complex grid deployments.
D. Grid Operations, Compliance & Cybersecurity
- Ensure solutions meet compliance and regulatory expectations—grid codes, protection standards, cybersecurity frameworks for critical infrastructure.
- Review and optimize operational processes (state estimation, fault location, switching operations, contingency analysis).
E. Client Engagement & Industry Leadership
- Engage with global utilities, OEMs, and regulatory stakeholders to shape modernization programs.
- Mentor cross functional engineering teams, guide product/solution roadmaps, and develop training programs.
- Contribute to proposals, RFP responses, and strategic pursuits as the designated Smart Grid/HV SME.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong expertise in HV transmission & distribution operations, grid protection & automation.
Proficiency with:
- ADMS, OMS, DMS, SCADA, EMS, GIS, DERMS platforms
- Real time grid analytics, DER integration, load forecasting, Volt/VAR, FLISR
- Communication protocols: IEC 61850, IEC 60870 5, DNP3, Modbus, CIM (IEC 61970/61968)
Experience:
- 12-15 years in Grid/Power Systems/Smart Grid domain roles within utilities, OEMs, or engineering organizations.
- Proven experience in implementation of ADMS/SCADA/EMS/OMS systems and grid operations.
- Experience driving grid modernization initiatives and large-scale transformation programs.
Education:
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, Energy Systems, or related field.
