Senior Ansible Engineer

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Ansible playbooks, roles, and modules for infrastructure automation
• Automate provisioning, configuration management, patching, and deployment activities
• Work with Ansible Automation Platform (AAP) / Tower for job orchestration
• Integrate Ansible with tools like ServiceNow, Splunk, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines
• Design reusable and scalable automation frameworks
• Perform troubleshooting, debugging, and optimization of automation workflows
• Ensure best practices such as idempotency, error handling, tagging, and version control
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify automation opportunities
• Create documentation, runbooks, and knowledge transfer sessions

Additional Responsibilities

• Strong hands-on experience with Ansible
• Good knowledge of Linux/Unix administration
• Experience with YAML, Jinja2 templating, and Git
• Understanding of REST APIs and integrations
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, etc.)
• Basic scripting knowledge (Python/Bash/PowerShell)

Technical and Professional Requirements

Ansible Collections – Build and manage structured, reusable automation components.

• AWX / Ansible Tower (AAP) – Configure job templates, workflows, RBAC, and credentials.
• CI/CD Tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps) – Integrate Ansible into automated pipelines.
• Vault Tools (Ansible Vault, HashiCorp Vault) – Secure secrets and sensitive variables.
• Cloud & Platform Modules – Automate AWS, Azure, GCP, VMware, Kubernetes resources.
